Post Conference Field Trip

Delhi / Kullu / Solang / Shivling / Manali / Rohtang / Chandigarh / Delhi

Dates: 15 – 17 January 2011
Cost: US$ 600 per person inclusive of taxes

Itinerary

15 January

(Day 1) Travel from Delhi to Kullu by air. Drive to Solang and check-in at Hotel Iceland. Breakfast will be followed by a short acclimatization walk to Shivling and return to the hotel for lunch.

Post lunch, drive to Manali for sightseeing, visit the Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, old Manali township and Vashisht Kund (sulphur hot springs) and then back to Iceland for drinks and dinner.

In the evening there is a campfire, with a local folk dance troupe performance followed by a BBQ and cocktails.

Field Trip Skiing16 January

(Day 2) Drive to Rohtang, enjoy the snow conditions out there, avail of snow biking, skiing, snow boarding, and other snow bound activities. Ski equipment will be provided to proficient skiers. Beginners may attend a day clinic to learn the basics of skiing and practice on nursery slopes.
In the evening there is a campfire, BBQ and cocktails.

17 January

(Day 3) Early morning breakfast and drive to Chandigarh airport. Travel by air back to Delhi.

 

 


Notes
  1. All flight tickets, road travel (4 pax per vehicle), meals, rooms on twin sharing basis, sports equipment, beverages and alcoholic drinks on the folk dance night are included in the trip cost.
  2. Paragliding fees are not included in the trip cost. This will be available for an optional surcharge.
  3. All participants are required to bring sufficient warm clothing. Snow can be
    expected. Day temperatures can drop to 10 – 12 degrees centigrade. Night temperatures can fall below zero.
  4. Participants are requested to plan their onward journey from 18 January onwards.
